18 Mar 2010 Jade & Danny | Gold Coast magic moments

They bring me to you.

After recently debuting Jade & Danny’s teaser a short while ago, I’m so excited to premiere their magic moments. It was a super stylish wedding with so many great moments - all punctuated by some incredible speeches.

J & D are a great couple that were so relaxed through the day, genuinely going with the flow and not letting anything bother them. The end result was quite simply the perfect wedding. Not to be outdone though were a few surprise guests at the end of the night that came along to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The magic moment clips are the perfect addition to any package and my favourite of all edits. The essence of the day is carefully cut together with beautiful imagery to form a deep, engaging & concise narration.

With lots of exciting things in the pipeline, including a new business venture, these guys are in for an incredible life together.

Enjoy the story of their day…

17 Jan 2010 Gemma & Grant | magic moments

The magic moments clip from Gemma & Grant’s beautiful Evan’s Head combined wedding/naming day from late 2009

A few random facts…

They both share the exact same initials: GTM
Their first Christmas together they unknowingly bought each other the exact same present - a pair of Simpsons boxers shorts
They both wore the boxers on the day - they were Gemma’s ’something blue’
They have 2 gorgeous kids - Will and Summer
They have an incredible love for each other.

27 Nov 2009 John & Barbara | a wedding 73 years in the making
 |  Category: magic moments, video, weddings  | Tags: , ,  | One Comment

Something very special to share with this post.

At the end of October I had the pleasure of capturing my Uncle John’s wedding to his sweetheart Barbara in Manilla, NSW (about 30 minutes out of Tamworth). He’s 73 years old  (and to think some people thought it’d never happen!)

One of the advantages of getting married later in life that I hadn’t considered is being able to include descendants and relatives in the celebrations. Barbara’s 2 bridesmaids were her daughter and granddaughter - first time I’ve ever heard of 3 generations being in a bridal party and obviously very special.

My Uncle John has always been a natural performer, so to reflect this the edit has a quirky doco feel to it, with touching moments mixed with some humourous ones.

Here are the highlights. Enjoy.

The ‘phantom’  paint on the car is a reference to the reputation he’s developed over the years at the many, many family weddings he’s attended, where bridal cars would get mysteriously ‘decorated’ by an unknown someone…

11 Nov 2009 Gemma, Grant, Will & Summer | Evans Head wedding
 |  Category: teasers, video, weddings  | Tags: , , ,  | 3 Comments

In a word this past weekend was…inspirational.

A beautiful couple of events in Evans Head. Firstly an intimate wedding with Gemma and Grant which was followed by a naming day for their beautiful kids Will & Summer. Such a special day not only to honour their relationship with each another but also to make promises for the future to their children.

They’ve chosen to include one of our popular magic moments clips for their final edit which will be posted here once completed.

In the meantime be swept away by their love with this gorgeous little teaser from the day…pinky swears.

It was the first time working with photographer James Day from 3 words in Armidale which was just a barrel of laughs. Keep an eye out for the possibility of a potentially revealing “James Day highlight reel”… ;)

26 Oct 2009 Alex & Karen | Coolangatta wedding | a love story
 |  Category: love story, promotions, video, weddings  | Tags: , , ,  | 5 Comments

Beautiful wedding in Coolangatta over the weekend with Alex & Karen. Such a natural, down to earth couple - the love & respect they have for each other and their family and friends shone through all day.

They exchanged intimate vows at the beautiful Froggie’s Beach and despite the weather threatening to turn nasty it did hold off for every key moment. Duranbah Beach was the location for a photo session - first time working with Lauren Joy photography which was great fun.

Now that their wedding has taken place, I can finally share the love story they won from our promotion a couple of months ago - a little insight into a great couple, their love and a brief look at how it all began.

This was a surprise to everyone, which screened midway through the reception for the guests and it got an amazing response. Loads of smiles, laughter and even a few tears…enjoy.

P.S. Favourite quote - Alex: “A boat’s a boat - you give a man a boat and you get the keys to his heart!”

28 Jul 2009 Aleisha & Jens | Mullumbimby wedding
 |  Category: teasers, video, weddings  | Tags: , , , ,  | 3 Comments

Wonderfully expressive couple, some quick spinning wedding bands (thanks boys ;) ) and a 30 year old bottle of Scotch…does it get any better? Just 3 aspects from Aleisha & Jens’ wedding over the weekend.

Jens’ Dad bought a bottle of scotch on the day Jens was born, gave it to him on his 21st birthday and along with his groomsmen Jens opened it on his wedding day. I think it did it was ‘mission accomplished’ with the calming of the nerves.

After preparations in Ocean Shores and Brunswick Heads, A & J were married in an intimate ceremony at St. Martin’s Church in Mullumbimby over the weekend on a simply perfect Winter’s day.

After exchanging vows (including a very keen pre-emptive “I do” from Jens), we had some time afterwards to get some footage and photos at a few stunning locations - Ewingsdale, The Pass and Lighthouse @ Byron Bay before heading into the Byron Surf Club for a great reception. A fantastic wedding all around with so many great moments.

I’ve used a very worthy portion of Aleisha’s beautiful speech to her new husband to narrate this teaser…

They’ve also chosen to include a magic moments clip which I cannot wait to put together knowing the amazing footage and moments that I have. It’ll be online in a couple of weeks so make sure you check back!

Have a great, relaxing honeymoon guys and I look forward to hearing all about it.

As always, comments welcome!

P.S. I actually think the Scotch was 28 years old, but 30 sounds sooo much better…

24 Jun 2009 Mel & Nic | Maleny wedding
 |  Category: teasers, video, weddings  | Tags: , ,  | One Comment

What a gorgeous wedding this past weekend up in Maleny with Mel & Nic…and although the weather was a little temperamental it definitely didn’t dampen the spirits of the celebrations.

They were married at the beautiful Maleny Manor in the Sunshine Coast hinterland - a location that’s perfect so everything took place there - from preparations through to the reception.

In a nice personal touch, Mel wore her mother’s dress from her own wedding 27 years ago which was quite emotional, particularly for her parents.

They exchanged intimate vows safely undercover overlooking some amazing hinterland scenery. Nic was very happy to make it through the ceremony - apart from the raindrop that co-incidentally landed right in his eye ;)

In between a little light intermittent rain, we had the opportunity for a beautiful photo+video shoot of them sharing some special moments together and then the partae began..!

Here’s a brief teaser for their wedding. I’ve used a small selection of Mel’s beautiful words to Nic in her speech as a narrative. As always - feel free to leave a comment. They’re very welcome!

16 Jun 2009 Brett & Haylee | Brisbane wedding
 |  Category: teasers, video, weddings  | Tags: , ,  | One Comment

I had the pleasure over the weekend of filming Brett and Haylee’s Brisbane wedding.

Brett prepared with his groomsmen at the family home he’d grown up in. My personal highlight? A little impromptu dialogue from a favourite movie of mine. Below is the interaction while Brett was fixing his tie…can you pick the flick?

Best man Mike: “It’s all in the hips, it’s all in the hips…”

Brett: “Get off of me!”

Mike: “Just easing the tension, baby…just easing the tension”

Brett’s brother Matt: “Well ease it on someone else!”

Just love it.

Meanwhile, Haylee was preparing at the beautiful Stamford Plaza in the city, with lots of help from her very eager nieces!

The were married in Brisbane’s stunning St. John’s Cathedral. According to their website, “one of the most significant buildings in Australia” - a claim well and truly backed up once experienced in person. Featuring high ceilings and stained glass windows throwing all sorts of amazing colours around, it was one of the most breathtaking churches I’ve ever had the pleasure of filming in.

After exchanging promises (and Brett just holding it together…), there were a few stops for photography near the church and then also at the Powerhouse museum - gorgeous locations made even better by a great bridal party.

The reception celebrations were held at Customs House - yet another amazing spot. Hilarious, touching & emotional speeches were made and a great party atmosphere extended well into the evening.

There were so many great moments, it was quite a challenge to trim this down to just a short teaser, so in the end I decided to edit it together a little differently. See if you can pick what the theme is…

Congratulations on a great wedding Brett and Haylee and thanks for choosing me to be a part of your day.

A huge thank you to Stephen Henry photography for his help both on the day and also since.

20 May 2009 Amee & Wayne | Grafton wedding
 |  Category: teasers, uncategorised, video, weddings  | Tags: , ,  | 4 Comments

A beautiful country wedding over the weekend about half an hour out of Grafton…

A couple of firsts for me this wedding - one of the most notable being avoiding wild emus on the drive to Amee’s house (!) - another was coming face to face with a pet snake inside the house.

After preparations in the family home, it was down to the ceremony location and…get this - Wayne and his father in law had hand-built the jetty over the river specifically for the wedding. Now THAT is dedication…

A couple of gorgeous photo locations both around the property and in town were features of their day, as were their emotional, beautifully written vows.

Guys - thanks for choosing me to be a part of a magic day. Have a fantastic honeymoon and here’s the teaser to give you a taste so far…Wayne’s reaction at getting through his vows are priceless.

They’ve booked a ‘magic moments’ clip also, so I’ll be sure to put it online once done - check back soon!
