07 Aug 2010 ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
 |  Category: uncategorised  | 2 Comments

the time has come for some long overdue changes.

over the past few weeks (or is it months?) I’ve been busily working on re-branding to reflect the different direction my work has been taking. i’m finally ditching the oh-so-80’s ‘multimedia’. phew.

the new branding and website is going to be fresher, much cleaner, more personal and to be honest just plain better.

if you want to check it out (there’s a deadline too…), have a look here: wedding videos byron bay / gold coast / brisbane

see you on the other side.

17 May 2010 Lisa and Rod | shadows and silhouettes

Being asked to pack the bags and travel to Tamworth to capture Lisa and Rod’s amazing wedding.

A huge honour.

A day full of friendship, emotion, laughter and love (& some great rides*…)

Keeping things fresh, this teaser’s a little different.

Everything been hidden through the use of selective focus & compositions, shadows & silhouettes.

Special thanks to the talented Antony and Mary Ann from North Coast Photography in Coffs Harbour. It was great catching up with them - we had such a great time shooting together and captured some amazing imagery and moments. To see the day through their eyes click through to their blog entry.

If you’ve got any comments or would like to leave a message for Lisa & Rod please feel free.

* the wheels included: 2 pristine ‘57 chevvys, a hot rod and some top of the line caprices. Tamworth didn’t know what hit it ;)

09 Mar 2010 Serena & Liang | a love story from the stillmotion workshop
 |  Category: uncategorised  | One Comment

As recently posted I recently had the privilege of attending the 3 day stillmotion evolution experience in Sydney - it was incredible. Not only is this team of wedding film makers amazingly talented at what they do, they have the rare gift of also being great educators and are very generous in sharing their knowledge & experience.

It was quite an intense, challenging experience and personally I think it was one of the best investments I’ve made - much more so than any piece of gear I’ve ever bought.

Day 2 of the workshop saw us split into teams for a number of quite different production challenges. One of them was to produce a love story for a couple whose wedding was less than 2 weeks away. We had 2 hours to meet Serena and Liang, brainstorm ideas between our team then plan and execute our shoot. The 90 second finished piece then had to be edited overnight.

My very talented team consisted of Kee Sitt from wedding story (all the way from Malaysia), Warren Bonello from Exclusive video, and Edgard Neves and Marlon Simmons from Abraham Joffe videographers.

Here’s the great piece that we put together…

07 Feb 2010 Stillmotion workshop | Sydney

Tremendously exciting week coming up with my attendance at the Stillmotion evolution workshop being held in Sydney. I’m looking forward to taking part, sharing, learning, and growing in what will no doubt be an amazing experience.

For those of you that haven’t heard of Stillmotion, they are widely regarded as world leaders in true wedding cinema - constantly pushing boundaries, exceeding ‘limitations’ about what wedding cinema can be by creating amazing, inspired work. They’re coming out from Canada for an exclusive series of workshops in Sydney & Melbourne.

This is one of my favourite pieces of theirs…

16 Jul 2009 New clips coming, the AVPA awards and more…
 |  Category: uncategorised  | Tags: ,  | Leave a Comment

It’s been a while in between posts as it’s been busy, busy but it will be worth the wait. There’s loads of fresh, cool stuff to share over the next few weeks from some amazing weddings. There’ll be 3 new magic moment clips, at least 2 more teasers and a love story so keep checking back. I’ve also got a personal project that I’ve been working on which I’m looking forward to sharing.

The AVPA* awards are also coming up in a little over a week which is very exciting. It was hard to decide on particular entries with so many that fitted the bill, but I have chosen 2 wedding highlights from 2009 which I feel are well and truly worthy.

I’m also planning on entering my new wedding showreel which I’m hoping will be well received by the judging committee. A big thank you to all my beautiful brides over the last 12 months (and handsome grooms too) for allowing me to share in such special and precious moments of your lives.

*The AVPA is Australia’s leading professional Video Producers organisation and AVPA accreditation is not simply paid for by an annual subscription. It is earned through a stringent judging process from leaders within the industry.

20 May 2009 Amee & Wayne | Grafton wedding
 |  Category: teasers, uncategorised, video, weddings  | Tags: , ,  | 4 Comments

A beautiful country wedding over the weekend about half an hour out of Grafton…

A couple of firsts for me this wedding - one of the most notable being avoiding wild emus on the drive to Amee’s house (!) - another was coming face to face with a pet snake inside the house.

After preparations in the family home, it was down to the ceremony location and…get this - Wayne and his father in law had hand-built the jetty over the river specifically for the wedding. Now THAT is dedication…

A couple of gorgeous photo locations both around the property and in town were features of their day, as were their emotional, beautifully written vows.

Guys - thanks for choosing me to be a part of a magic day. Have a fantastic honeymoon and here’s the teaser to give you a taste so far…Wayne’s reaction at getting through his vows are priceless.

They’ve booked a ‘magic moments’ clip also, so I’ll be sure to put it online once done - check back soon!

As always, comments welcome!

Well - I’ve finally entered the blogosphere! After much hesitation & many excuses I’ve decided to keep a blog for Barwick Multimedia. I’ve got the intention to update regularly (that’s what I’m saying now, anyway..!)

It’ll be a great opportunity to showcase some work, and will hopefully give current (and future) clients the chance to see the sort of thing we do.

Stay tuned - there’s come cool stuff coming up..!
